Registered Name: Katouni

Born in Kentucky on May 15, 2010

Sired by Point Given Out of Kithira (GB) by Danehill

I was born on a morning kissed by Kentucky sunshine, my hooves touching the earth of a world that believed I was destined for greatness. They named me Katouni, daughter of champions, bred by the famed Juddmonte Farms and sired by the legendary Point Given. My bloodline was rich with promise, my future seemingly written in the stars.

But life, I have learned, is not a straight path.

I tried my best on the racetrack, six times in six different places. Each time, I gave everything, but the finish line never crowned me. My worth, it seemed, was measured by victories, and without them, I was cast aside.

Then came a new role. I became a mother, bringing six beautiful fillies into the world. My firstborn was the very first foal by Constitution, a stallion of great acclaim. I gave all I could, year after year, until my body could no longer carry the weight of expectation.

When I could no longer produce, I was discarded. Sent away like something broken, to a place where the light of hope barely flickers. I found myself in a line of the forgotten, tagged and sorted for slaughter, the end of a story that had begun with so much promise.

But then, a miracle. Unbridled Sanctuary found me. They saw not a discarded broodmare, but a living, breathing soul who had given everything she had. They brought me here, to a place where the only thing asked of me is to be.

Here, I am loved. I am brushed with gentle hands, my coat gleaming under the sun. I graze in fields that whisper of safety. I have found a sanctuary where my worth is not measured by what I produce, but by who I am.

I am learning to trust again. To believe that there is goodness in the world. To feel the warmth of a human voice that says, You matter.

And so, my story continues. Not as one of loss, but of rediscovery. Not as a cautionary tale, but as a testament to resilience. I am Katouni, and I have found a place where I belong.

And perhaps, in reading my story, you too will find a piece of your heart here at Unbridled. For in saving me, they showed me what it means to be truly seen, truly loved, and forever protected.
