I decided to create Real Horse Rescues Podcast to reach a wider audience to share the true worth of Horses.

Podcast listenership is skyrocketing, and our horses need our voices now more than ever. The Rescue Community is filled with amazing, compassionate, articulate advocates who are rarely heard. For those with non-profits, the Podcast is great means to raise awareness of their mission and to connect with prospective donors.

It is my goal to rekindle listeners affinity for horses, and to evoke   reflection on our moral commitment to protect and care for these magnificent beings. Despite the evolution of our relationship with horses, most horses, no matter their age or accolades, are only one sale away from slaughter; a little-known fact outside of the industry.

It is my hope that through open and honest discussions, that new paths will unfold to truly make this world a gentler home for our beloved equine friends.  ~

ABOUT | Real Horse Rescues is an educational endeavor with the well-being of equine at its heart. The Podcast is an extension of the groundbreaking equine advocacy TV series of the same name which broadcast on ABC-WTEN. In the Podcast Series, host Susan Kayne will examine developments within the Equine Rescue Community, and explore the big questions at the center of Equine Welfare: Who are horses really, and how do we want to live with them?

Listeners will hear from Rescuers who are on the front lines of saving horses from slaughter, to Representatives and Advocates who are raising the bar in Washington D.C., to grant makers, to active stable owners, to community changemakers. Each guest will share the successes, surprises, challenges, and the reality of a day-to-day journey to create a kinder life for horses. Some you will know – others, you will be glad to meet.

From probing firestorm posts on facebook, to parsing industry practices’, to reframing the debate on horse slaughter, to comprehending the networking necessary to secure one sentient soul from certain death, to questioning what we do with horses, and why –  listeners will be privy to a trustworthy curation of stirring conversations.

We are committed to delivering meaningful content to share the true worth of horses, and to challenge the status quo; to inspire critical thinking, and to ignite a fresh dialogue that emboldens a new discourse on our ethical responsibility to our equine partners.

The Podcast will launch December 1 and feature 31 consecutive days of interviews to establish the Series on iTunes, SoundCloud, and Stitcher Radio. This schedule will also drive awareness to help Non-Profits increase year-end outreach. Beginning on January 1, 2018, RHR Podcast will be released bi-weekly; one interview (60-mins), one topic (30-mins).
