Parrish Queen was a fourth-generation home-bred of the iconic Roach Family. Born at Parrish Hill Farm, she had the heritage, pedigree, and privilege to become a millionaire earner and champion like her sire JOHAR and her great aunt the famed PRINCESS ROONEY. Princess Rooney was inducted into the Hall of Fame, in 1991, and she sold for $5.5 million at Keeneland in 1985.

Parrish Queen did not race. According to the Jockey Club, Parrish Queen gave birth to four foals: 2018 Colt, 2017 Filly named Bella My Darling, 2016 Colt named Chinese Mob, and a 2015 Colt named Breath of Royalty. To date, none of her foals have raced.

In early 2015, Parrish Queen was featured in the Paulick Report accompanied by her fisrt foal, a colt by Heavy Breathing. In November of 2015, Parrish Queen was auctioned at Keeneland in foal to Big Brown. She did not sell, nor does a live birth record exist for the foal she was carrying at that time.

We met Parrish Queen on the night of September 23, 2022. She was alone and trembling in a dark corner behind heavy steel bars in a corner stall at the Unadilla Auction. She was part of a Thoroughbred Farm dispersal. Kicked and bitten in transit to auction, her hind ankles were gouged and caked with dried blood and manure, and fresh bleeding wounds oozed on her hind legs. Sore all over and locked in a cage, a human glance in her direction evoked dread all over her beautiful face.

In the sales ring, the only other bidder was the local kill broker. When the gavel fell to Unbridled, her future had changed for the better forevermore.

The scars across Queen’s nose are from a halter having grown into her face. Any quick movement in her presence will trigger a flight and fright response. Her reactions show us that she has suffered egregious abuse.

With much love, great patience, and no agenda but for her well-being, in time she will know that her troubles are over, she has nothing to fear, and that she is finally home.🤍
